Our second day is winding down and it was a very eventful day. We had field demonstrations in the morning with the help of Custer PPD and Nebraska Public Power District. We climbed power poles and took bucket truck rides. We had a high voltage safety demonstration and played Energy Audit Bingo.<br />
<br />
After lunch we learned about electric safety from NREA Job Training & Safety Coordinator Bob Cooper.<br />
<br />
Part of the group went on a canoe trip down the Middle Loup River and the rest held a volleyball tournament.<br />
<br />
We had our Ambassador competition introductions. There were 33 participants - 16 girls and 17 boys.<div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha761J2JQbU4UZmhzI0o9XvC5LH3T6cO5rzWGAbxXcoan6K7OgQgY4ocnnOcbQTS1aFmZzbLt-rPrijFmPmEM9-I7XE4mODud-1Qm-rF_xTOJht2FN5azsxfOKfn3VZSMyVytu2msQgAA/s640/blogger-image--1496973709.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha761J2JQbU4UZmhzI0o9XvC5LH3T6cO5rzWGAbxXcoan6K7OgQgY4ocnnOcbQTS1aFmZzbLt-rPrijFmPmEM9-I7XE4mODud-1Qm-rF_xTOJht2FN5azsxfOKfn3VZSMyVytu2msQgAA/s640/blogger-image--1496973709.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrm8RT9e-SWAFmcSDqXsq9IURFetRW-wAXYnOsATq2pbkODC7Xd9T6DHpB9PzNVsTjatX32Czm_2jyr8F7cv3-gmD4WUwsdRlwqWYQavhU21JK7UdmexlEIg22aDt_pp3hF9gLiY2Iwpg/s640/blogger-image--1402895342.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrm8RT9e-SWAFmcSDqXsq9IURFetRW-wAXYnOsATq2pbkODC7Xd9T6DHpB9PzNVsTjatX32Czm_2jyr8F7cv3-gmD4WUwsdRlwqWYQavhU21JK7UdmexlEIg22aDt_pp3hF9gLiY2Iwpg/s640/blogger-image--1402895342.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibBdf5ECq6aUnLvcCIMuC9HQcz0AFY6N5316-JCG3Sz7a1qMRcJyyxnWhyphenhyphenMYwAsVZDAmGnaz02jg_t4yjZL326R8Etr5bpJHvaqlAQ7IX8EX5Hk-RUUX2YXbwrtB587yoqf2dbhdWdMK4/s640/blogger-image--1168827386.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibBdf5ECq6aUnLvcCIMuC9HQcz0AFY6N5316-JCG3Sz7a1qMRcJyyxnWhyphenhyphenMYwAsVZDAmGnaz02jg_t4yjZL326R8Etr5bpJHvaqlAQ7IX8EX5Hk-RUUX2YXbwrtB587yoqf2dbhdWdMK4/s640/blogger-image--1168827386.jpg" /></a></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05613308900959885703noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6516801346743707912.post-35771790802820045002012-07-09T19:19:00.001-07:002012-07-13T16:10:06.406-07:00Day 1 - MondayYouth Energy Camp is underway with 79 campers from all over Nebraska and even a few from Wyoming. <br />
<br />
We have learned about the various types of careers that are available in the electric industry, what many of the various acronyms stand for, and we had the "Get Acquainted Party" with Herb Anderson.<br />
<br />
Each team appointed a member to the Board of Directors. Their first job was to interview applicants for the position of General Manager. We will announce the winner at breakfast tomorrow.<div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHIiONNdiclJAIP96qGcrj_YT-9MVetFhoo7U-Fr6IhkTHy59Z5xP22d0Pfw-sOfUZQjK_X7L-8L0nGRLKlK82rE2RgEgWMeB_Obzh4_z4z7jrnLPwbVr2ogugzQPx8fjIdMliq4Y69W0/s640/blogger-image-2018196322.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHIiONNdiclJAIP96qGcrj_YT-9MVetFhoo7U-Fr6IhkTHy59Z5xP22d0Pfw-sOfUZQjK_X7L-8L0nGRLKlK82rE2RgEgWMeB_Obzh4_z4z7jrnLPwbVr2ogugzQPx8fjIdMliq4Y69W0/s640/blogger-image-2018196322.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzgOGYzdntg8DywKRcqjByxjKmW2Wzg2zpT9FN141-VqJEOWD6J_PNSNnm-NTq06Iypovph3sg5dRU5vPVBnFpX7GlyRL-n5pO0RTTU9WOppU8BjdZL2hZnmXI6tyKpYZH3rSPRC16dJE/s640/blogger-image--6719471.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzgOGYzdntg8DywKRcqjByxjKmW2Wzg2zpT9FN141-VqJEOWD6J_PNSNnm-NTq06Iypovph3sg5dRU5vPVBnFpX7GlyRL-n5pO0RTTU9WOppU8BjdZL2hZnmXI6tyKpYZH3rSPRC16dJE/s640/blogger-image--6719471.jpg" /></a></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05613308900959885703noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6516801346743707912.post-59963708021532492592012-07-05T07:21:00.005-07:002012-07-14T08:56:24.505-07:00<b>2012 Youth Energy Camp is still happening</b><br />
<br />
After hearing there was a fire in the National Forest I was worried that it might be a problem for the Youth Energy Camp. But after talking to 4-H Camp Director Connie Cox, it looks like we're still on schedule to begin camp on Monday, July 9 at 3 p.m.<br />
<br />
The fire started June 30 approximately 22 miles southeast of Halsey by a lightning strike from a mid-day thunderstorm. The fire burned 1,043 acres of National Forest grasslands and timber. No private lands, structures or outbuildings were burned or damaged.<br />
<br />
Fire Officials declared the Camp 5 Fire as 100% contained at 3 p.m. on the 4th of July.<br />
<br />
The entire Nebraska National Forests & Grasslands remains under Stage II Fire Restriction Orders, and fireworks are not allowed anywhere on National Forest System lands. That means we won't be having our traditional campfire sing-along.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05613308900959885703noreply@blogger.com0
